Locate the scope of the change

Keep script/voiceover versions and note which sentence or section each B-roll clip supports. After an edit, check:

  • which lines were removed, lengthened, shortened or reordered;
  • which shots still match their original content; and
  • which clips are only offset versus no longer fitting the current meaning.

Correct one clearly affected section first, then play the surrounding material to check continuity. A wording change does not always require rebuilding the full video.

Make later revisions easier to track

  • If the script is still changing, consider finishing the main narrative before placing detailed B-roll.
  • Note the subject, action or example each shot illustrates; keep its timeline position as a secondary reference.
  • Group shots by chapter or section so you can review the affected scope.
  • After each revision, check whether shots still fit the new narration, not only whether their timecodes match.

These are workflow suggestions for easier review. A content note can help relocate a shot, but it does not guarantee automatic movement or eliminate all rework.

Separate audio/video sync from misplaced picture

If sound and picture have a global delay or drift, troubleshoot sync. If they align but a shot no longer illustrates the current narration, reposition the B-roll. For sync, see the multicamera/multirecorder guide; for narration anchors, see how to keep B-roll matched to the voiceover.

When a larger adjustment is needed

If a rewrite changes the order, section structure or meaning a shot needs to convey, several clips may need to be reorganized. If only a few lines changed, start by reviewing those shots and nearby transitions before expanding the scope.

Where Aixcut fits

Aixcut supports requesting automatic B-roll and can be asked to prioritize user-provided footage; after script changes, manually review shot timing and meaning.
