Audio Extractor

Extract the audio from a video and keep it as a separate file, so the sound can be reused without the picture. Aixcut extracts audio in a desktop Chrome or Edge workspace, and the resulting track remains available in the project for later edits.

Audio Extractor

How to use Aixcut for this task

  1. STEP 01

    Add the video you own

Open the project and bring in the clip whose audio you need, after confirming you have the rights to reuse it.

  2. STEP 02

    Extract the sound

Start the extraction and wait for the track to be produced before you begin editing it.

  3. STEP 03

    Verify and export

Listen through for clipped words or dropouts, then export the audio in the format the next tool expects.

What extraction keeps and what it drops

Extraction lifts the audio track out of the video. It preserves the words, the music and the room sound exactly as recorded, including any noise, hum or clipping that was already there. It cannot separate a voice from background music in a finished mix.

Common reasons to pull the audio out

Reusing an interview as a podcast, sending a quote to a transcript tool, keeping a music bed for a second edit, or sending sound to someone who cannot take the video file. Each of those destinations usually wants a different format, so check before exporting.

Keep the rights question in view

Extracting audio does not grant rights to the recording. If the footage or the music inside it belongs to someone else, the extracted track carries the same restrictions as the video it came from.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this task, its limits and how to judge the result.

How do I extract audio from a video?

Add the clip, run the extraction, then export the resulting track in the format your destination needs. Check the first and last seconds before sending it on.

What audio format will I get?

The available output options are shown in the workspace when you export. Pick the one that matches where the file is going rather than a default.

Can I extract only the voice and remove the background music?

No. Extraction separates the audio track from the video, not a voice from a finished mix. If the music is already in the recording, it stays.

Is it legal to reuse audio from any video?

Only if you hold the rights or have permission. Extracting the track changes the file, not the ownership of the recording.

Is there a free way to extract audio from video?

Trial access and output formats follow the current workspace. Extracting audio does not grant rights to reuse a third-party recording.
