Video Summary

Summarize a long video instead of watching it end to end: produce a short written overview you can skim, quote or turn into show notes. Aixcut works from the transcript in a desktop Chrome or Edge workspace, so the summary stays linked to the recording it came from.

Video Summary

How to use Aixcut for this task

  1. STEP 01

    Add the recording

Bring in the video or its audio and generate the transcript first, since the summary is built from the words.

  2. STEP 02

    Produce the summary

Generate the overview and read it against the transcript rather than trusting it as a finished document.

  3. STEP 03

    Check names and figures

Correct anything the summary paraphrased into the wrong claim, then export or paste it where it is needed.

What a good summary keeps

A useful summary preserves the decisions, the numbers and the named entities, and drops the repetition, the small talk and the restated points. If the numbers are missing or the names are wrong, the summary is decorative rather than usable, which is why the review pass matters more than the generation.

Summaries built on transcripts, not on guesses

Because the summary comes from the transcript, its accuracy is bounded by the transcription. A garbled product name becomes a garbled summary. Check the transcript for names and figures before summarising, so the correction work is done once rather than twice.

Where summaries get reused

Show notes, meeting minutes, a decision log, an article outline, or a shorter description for a republished clip. Decide which one you need before formatting, because minutes and show notes are not the same document even when both come from the same recording.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this task, its limits and how to judge the result.

How do I summarize a long video?

Transcribe the recording first, generate the summary from that transcript, then correct names and figures before using it.

Does the summary include timestamps?

Summaries are usually written as prose. If you need to jump back to a moment, keep the timed transcript alongside the summary.

Can I summarize a video I did not record?

Only with the rights to work with it. The summary is derived from the spoken content, so the same restrictions apply.

How accurate is an automatic summary?

It reflects the transcript it was built from. Fix names and numbers in the transcript first, then review the summary for paraphrases that changed the meaning.

Can I summarize a video for free?

Trial access follows the current workspace rules. Review the transcript and usage limits before relying on a summary for publication.
