Convert an MP4 into an MP3 when you only need the sound: a voice memo from a screen recording, a music bed from your own footage, or an audio track for a transcript. Aixcut extracts the audio from an MP4 in a desktop Chrome or Edge workspace and exports it as a separate file.

MP3 is small, plays almost everywhere and is accepted by transcription tools, podcast hosts and messaging apps. If the audio will be edited further or archived, keep a WAV as well, because MP3 discards detail that cannot be recovered later.
Converting an MP4 to MP3 does not add detail. If the original track was recorded on a phone in a noisy room, the MP3 keeps that character. Judge the result by whether speech stays intelligible at the level you will listen at, not by the file size alone.
Extraction separates the audio from the video; it does not remove background music, isolate a single speaker, or clean up noise. And the rights to the recording remain with whoever owns it, regardless of the output format.
