Voice & music

Add Music

Add music to a video and control how it sits under the voice, so the track supports the edit instead of fighting it. Aixcut adds and adjusts audio in a desktop Chrome or Edge workspace, with levels and fades set in the same project as the picture.

Add Music

How to use Aixcut for this task

  1. STEP 01

Import the video and the music

Add both to the project and check that you have the right to use the track.

  2. STEP 02

Place the track under the picture

Set where the music starts and ends, then trim it so it does not run past the final shot.

  3. STEP 03

    Balance, fade and export

Lower the music under dialogue, add a short fade at both ends, and play the whole clip before exporting.

Set the level under the voice, not against it

Music that sounds good on its own can bury a voiceover. Drop the music several steps below the dialogue, then listen on both speakers and headphones, because what is audible on one is often lost on the other. Keep the result consistent across the whole clip rather than adjusting shot by shot.

Fades solve most abrupt endings

A track that stops mid-phrase sounds like a mistake. A short fade out over the last beat, or a fade in at the opening, makes the music feel intentional. Match the fade length to the pace of the edit: a fast cut needs less, a slow opening can take more.

Use music you are allowed to publish

Popular tracks are rarely cleared for published video, and a claim can appear after upload. Use licensed or original audio, or the music options the platform provides. Check the licence for the channel you are publishing on, not just for the edit.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this task, its limits and how to judge the result.

How do I add music to a video?

Add the video and the track to the project, place the music under the picture, set its level below the dialogue, then add fades and export.

How loud should background music be?

Quiet enough that every word stays clear, and consistent for the whole clip. Check on both headphones and speakers before you publish.

Can I add music from any song?

Only if you have the right to use it. Published video usually needs a licensed or original track, so check the licence for the platform you are publishing on.

Why does my music end abruptly?

The track was cut without a fade. Add a short fade out over the final beat so the ending sounds deliberate rather than broken.

Is there a free way to add music to a video?

Trial access follows the current workspace rules, while music licensing is a separate question. Use audio you have the right to publish.
