Audio to Text

Turn an audio recording into written text you can search, quote or subtitle. Aixcut handles audio to text transcription in a desktop Chrome or Edge workspace, so a single upload feeds notes, captions and a plain text record without another round trip.

Audio to Text

How to use Aixcut for this task

  1. STEP 01

    Bring in the file

Add the recording and listen through the first minute to judge how much correction the rest will need.

  2. STEP 02

    Produce the text

Run the transcription and keep the audio next to it while you read.

  3. STEP 03

    Clean it up and export

Correct the wording, add paragraph breaks where the speaker changed, then export what the destination needs.

Choose the output before you start

A meeting note needs readable paragraphs. A published quote needs exact wording. A subtitle file needs timing. The same transcription can serve all three, but formatting it once for the wrong destination usually means doing it again, so fix the goal first.

Fixing the source beats fixing the text

Distance from the microphone, room echo and background music cost more accuracy than anything else. If a recording is still ahead of you, a quiet room and a mic close to the speaker will save more time later than any editing pass.

Handle names and numbers deliberately

Automatic transcription gets ordinary vocabulary right and unusual vocabulary wrong, and the errors that matter are almost always names, figures and units. Keep a list of the terms you know will appear, and check each one after the pass rather than reading the whole document twice.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this task, its limits and how to judge the result.

How accurate is audio to text conversion?

It depends on the recording. Clear single-speaker audio needs light correction; noisy, accented or multi-speaker audio needs more.

Can I transcribe a long recording?

Longer recordings work, but plan the review in sections and check the first minute before committing to the full pass.

Does the text keep the speaker names?

Not reliably. Use the pause points to mark speaker changes yourself while you review.

Can I use the text for video captions?

Yes, if you also have the timing. A plain text export has no timecodes, so a caption workflow needs the timed version.

Can I convert audio to text for free?

Trial access follows the current workspace. Check recording length, speaker overlap and timestamp needs before starting.
