Subtitles & translation

Subtitle Generator

Generate subtitles automatically from the audio in your video, then correct the words that matter before you publish. Aixcut runs subtitle generation in a desktop Chrome or Edge workspace, so the captions land on the same timeline as the picture you already edited.

Subtitle Generator

How to use Aixcut for this task

  1. STEP 01

Add the video and let it transcribe

Bring the clip into the project and start the automatic caption pass over the dialogue.

  2. STEP 02

    Correct names, numbers and jargon

Read the generated text against the audio, fixing product names, figures and anything the recogniser guessed.

  3. STEP 03

    Check timing and export

Step through the captions as they appear, tighten any that lag or run long, then export.

Automatic captions are a first draft, not a final one

Automatic subtitle generators are fast on clean speech and unreliable on everything else: accents, overlapping speakers, brand names and numbers. Budget the review time in proportion to how unusual the vocabulary is. A technical demo needs more correction than a casual vlog.

Accuracy problems you can fix before publishing

Check three things on every pass: proper nouns, numbers and units, and the split points between segments. A wrong unit or a badly placed line break changes what the viewer understands, even when every word is spelled correctly.

Captions, subtitles and transcripts are different outputs

Captions cover dialogue for viewers who cannot hear it. Subtitles also translate or paraphrase for a different language. A transcript is the plain text with no timing. Decide which one the destination needs before exporting, because each has a different use.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about this task, its limits and how to judge the result.

How do I generate subtitles for a video?

Add the video, run the automatic caption pass, then correct names, numbers and timing before exporting.

How accurate are automatic subtitles?

Accuracy depends on the recording. Clear, single-speaker audio works well; accents, overlapping voices and technical vocabulary need manual correction.

Can I add subtitles to a video that already has them burned in?

Burned-in text cannot be separated from the picture. Remove or re-edit the original overlay first, or start from a clean version of the export.

What file should I export for a platform upload?

Platforms differ, and some accept a caption file next to the video while others want the text embedded. Check the platform requirement, then export the format it accepts.

Is there a free subtitle generator?

Trial credits follow the current usage rules. Check the task cost before generating captions and review text and timing afterwards; exporting itself does not consume credits.
